Lecture on “Sweden and I” by Distinguished University Professor Miyazono of the University of Tokyo at the Residence of Swedish Ambassador
On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, the Japan-Sweden Society (JSS), in cooperation with Swedish Ambassador Pereric Högberg, hosted a lecture titled "Sweden and I" by Distinguished University Professor Kohei Miyazono of the University of Tokyo at the ambassador's residence. Approximately thirty JSS members and their guests attended the event.
JSS Annual Nobel Dinner with Dr Yamanaka in the presence of Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado
On 7th November 2023, The Japan-Sweden Society hosted its Annual Nobel Dinner at the Tokyo American Club. Dr Shinya Yamanaka, the 2012 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, was our distinguished guest speaker. We were delighted to have Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado as our Guest of Honour at the event.
Lecture by the Nobel Foundation's Chairman
On Saturday 22nd April 2023, The Japan-Sweden Society and Tokyo College co-hosted a lecture by Professor Carl-Henrik Heldin, Chairman of the Nobel Foundation. The lecture, "Cancer research – Inspiration from the Nobel Prizes", took place at The University of Tokyo.
JSS Annual Nobel Dinner with Dr Yoshino
On December 1, 2022, the Society organized a Nobel lecture by Dr. Akira Yoshino, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry 2019 for his contributions to the development of lithium-ion batteries, a small energy system used to power mobile devices.

On Monday 31st October 2022, the Japan-Sweden Society held a panel discussion on Sweden’s NATO membership jointly with the University of Tokyo at the Komaba Campus.
Japan’s former Ambassador to Sweden talked about the “Wonders of Sweden”
On 7th July 2022, The Japan-Sweden Society hosted a seminar and networking event at the Embassy of Sweden. A presentation about the wonders of Sweden by Shigeyuki Hiroki, former Japanese Ambassador to Sweden, took place in the Alfred Nobel Auditorium.
