On the 16th June 2025, at a board meeting of The Japan-Sweden Society, Dr Soichiro “Sol” Yoshida was elected as the Society’s President.
Dr Soichiro “Sol” Yoshida was the Chairman of the Olympic Bid Committee that successfully brought the Winter Olympics to Nagano. Dr Yoshida was also a member of the Organizing Committee for the 1998 Nagano Olympic Winter Games. He has served as Sweden’s Honorary Consul for Nagano and has been awarded the insignia of a Commander of the Order of the Polar Star by Sweden. He has served as a JSS board member for many years.
At the board meeting on 12th September 2025, Yukio Doi, a long-time JSS board member, was appointed as the Society’s Vice President. Stefan Nilsson will continue to serve as the Society’s Managing Director.
